Kyo-Machiya, the traditional wooden house in Kyoto, defined the architectural atmosphere of downtown Kyoto for centuries. Unfortunately, true for all old Machiya is these buildings aren’t well insulated. Furthermore, climate in Kyoto is bone-chillingly cold in the winter, cause inside of house as cold as outside.
For Optimum Comfort around year, ISUKE INN renovated our traditional Machiya as airtight home, include proper heating and air conditional etc., can really Enjoy your stay here.

We are 5-MIN WALK from Subway KARASUMA line, SHIJO Station, EXIT No.24.
IF Using subway SAKASUMA line (bound for KOKUSAI-KAIKAN), please take off at SHIJO station.
Walk toward HANKYU Railway Station (pic.1), once you go through the ticket gate from SHIJO station. Look for EXIT No.24 go up to the round (onto SHIJO street), you should see the BANK of KYOTO CHUO SHINKIN (京都中央信用金庫) and a bus stop on the other side of street (pic.2). TURN Right (west side) keep going straight until you meet the second traffic light. From this corner of SHIJO-SHINMACHI street, pic. 3) TURN Right toward North. Pass one street (NISHIKI-KOJI St.), should find “Kyo Café” (京カフェ) and Shop “KUROCHIKU” (くろちく pic. 4) on your left. On the opposite side is building of ZIRENJI (瑞蓮寺, pic. 5), a NARRO PATH just next by (pic. 6). Please come in. Both three of our Machiya House are at the end of this path.
